I bought another Shopsmith if you can believe that. Saw this ad and initially thought I was going to look at a Mark 7 PowerPro.
It wasn't!

What was it?
It should be called Scambook. You couldn't pay me to be on Facebook.

Aw, c’mon, redleg. You can’t just post the first part of a gloat and then leave us hanging!
Re: Facebook Marketplace ad
I know I will probably be chided for buying this but I couldn't help myself. There really really are 20 year old (new) Shopsmiths out there or at least there was one. Pictures will have to wait until tomorrow. All but the headstock, associated parts and tubes were still in there original boxes opened but never unpacked or put together. Tape still on the switch. Even the legs that are still sitting in the guys hallway were still wrapped. Another road trip. It was a 510 with jointer, bandsaw, and dust collector in there original boxes. Oh, I didn't pay $5000 for it.

Good find at a great price. Why would the seller list it a MK7 with pictures? Bait and switch to get responses?

I don't think there was any intent to deceive. The guys dad was a hoarder and this sat in a mobile home hallway since it was new. I did get one picture before I went. Everything else was in taped boxes. They just had no idea of what it was and picked the closest thing they could find.

Re: Facebook Marketplace ad
At today's new market prices, this was a steal and I say that without seeing all the rest of the pictures or knowing what else you got.

I don't much care for Facebook either. I look at Marketplace and Shopsmith Owners and Sales Groups mostly. I do use CL but hate it too because I'll get several scam calls as soon as it goes on. Here are some more pictures of the Shopsmith.

Yup! Consider yourself a thief!
How's that for a bait and switch?. A brand new Mark V Model 510 built November 30, 2000 with dust collec tor, bandsaw and jointer.
Congratulations (even at $5000).
