Cannon and checkerboard rack

Post by redleg »

The checkerboard with backgammon board on the opposite side I made some time ago. I recently made the wall mount with space for checkers and a set of ceramic chess pieces my sister gave me 50 years ago.

The cannon is a birthday present for my son. Near the end of this month he'll be 47 with almost 30 years of service in the US Army. He joined the National Guard between his junior and senior year of high school and after college went to Officer Candidate School and active duty. The three pieces of cork towards the rear are 5/16" deep and 1/2" round each to put rank or unit insignia.
