From how often you are filming the black cat, I think he is now your cat!

"My Cat" was out in our ice storm last night. This is also the first 4 camera capture I have done. Just got the camera out yesterday before the rain/drizzle and freezing.....

Have my new extended router up and working but still have some placement things that I think I can get better. Already better with all but two cameras with less then full bars. None are below say 3 of 4 bars which is much better then normal.

A couple warmer days has the animals back out and visiting my yard. The video is a collection of 28 videos captured on 5 cameras. These are the videos with actual action, there are many more that end up on the "cutting floor".

I think there were at least two opossums, two cats, one racoon, and a rabbit. I may have to put up traffic lights. So far no confrontations in front of the cameras.

Had a skunk passing by already tonight so there might well be another video coming out tomorrow.

Just to be clear we don't have a cat.

So one of the cats that have appeared from time to time is fluffy but with night vision it hard to tell the color. I left the camera's on a little longer then normal and cat some daylight footage of this cat.

At about :52 point you can see it look right into the camera. I also added the follow up video where the squirrel follows the cat and gives it some parting words.

We had a brief warm up so the skunks decided to pay the yard a visit or perhaps just pass through on there way sonewhere??

I believe these are the same ones that I first taped last spring. There were three back then and a mom. One of the young ones didn't make it. The two young ones have been sticking together pretty much but in this video it may apear that is the same case but there is some hours in real time between there passing.

When the first one comes into the backyard it stops for a drink of melted snow, at is at about :18

Went out to check the area where I filmed the beaver dams, which of course were not allowed to stay..... Anyway that park is closed during the winter so I have to hike from another location. This hike takes me across Waubonsie Creek where a LOT of ducks have decided to spend their afternoon.

At the lake there were even more geese. I'd say thousands, no I did not count them but you can if you wish.

The skunk came for another visit. I have a new camera up and running so we see the skunk come in the yard from the right. Then the camera on the steps catches it going by, followed by the camera pointed towards the van and car. It then turns towards the back yard, but wait. Normally they head into the back yard but not this time. It goes along the fence then along the neighbors house heading to the left. I almost missed that looking at the smaller image on my phone but glad I caught it.

It seems it has to be warmer weather for the skunks to appear. Have to see if anything happens tonight with 29 degrees and some wet snow on the way but changing to rain and a high in the 40's tomorrow.

Hi Ed.

If you want to have the YouTube videos visible, and play within the post, there are a few tricks in the current implementation of phpBB. Took me quite a while to piece it all together.

- click the youtube button in the editor

-paste in the actual url for the video (not the "share" one with the dot in the middle). for the one above this is
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZN-U82vX7PQ

- and then, and this is the really tricky bit, add &t=1 at the end of the url

I was just commenting the other day that we never see two animals meet during the night. Well it happened last night. A skunk and rabbit event. Want to know what happened? You will have to watch.

I did a narrative in the comments, you can check that out or make up your own.

Knock knock knocking on the camera?

Nature is always surprising me.

Anyway I think this is the last of these that will be posted here.

I started this youtube channel as a place to post videos of wildlife and an occasional shopsmith or other wood working videos. Mostly the wildlife was for my grandchildren's benefit. I started to include links here but I will now discontinue that.

There will be new content on my youtube channel but in order to see it when posted will require you to subscribe and click the bell to be notified of new posts.

There is no benefit to me for visiting or for subscribing. It is totally up to you if you want to see the wildlife videos or not.
