Parts

Post by curad1950 »

Just joined up. Just bought a 500, I believe. It came with attachments but no power couplers. Like to get started but thought I'd ask for a parts source first. Still cleaning rust and dust, but it's pretty solid.

Welcome to the forum. Our sponsor sells the power couplers with or without hubs: https://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cat ... oupler.htm They are also frequently available on ebay and other websites, both used and aftermarket versions. The factory couplers are very good as long as you keep your equipment reasonably well aligned. But one plus a backup is still a good choice.

We can help you identify what you've bought if you provide pictures and/or Serial Number (which may be a date). The term '500' can be a confusing one because it is sometimes used specifically and sometimes used generically to include older units.
