Garage Workshop covers woodworking projects for converting one half of a spacious two car garage into a woodworking space. The folks at New Yankee Workshop claim that the conversion would allow anyone with a typical two car garage to tackle all the same projects that Norm takes on himself.

In this video review I summarize these episodes and test these claims against my own garage woodworking shop.

Is woodworking dangerous or risky? In this video I share a recent incident which caused a mild injury to my left hand. I explain why I find it more useful to react to woodworking risk, rather than reacting to woodworking danger.

The incident occurred while I was using my Shopsmith belt sander. I failed to keep my hand clear of the belt which was pulled into a pinch point between the belt and a heavy work piece. I go into detail regarding what I believe I did wrong and demonstrate how I made the operation less risky.

Memorial Day Special Release: A fun little woodworking video on this national holiday.

Jointing, planning, gluing and clamping are the bread and butter basics of woodworking. I use a jointer and thickness planer to size and surface the workpieces, apply glue and then clamp together.

Workbench improvements to solve problems with weight and rigidity. A dog hole apron is added to a store bought work table. Bracing is added to eliminate racking.

A Shopsmith's table saw blade height is set by raising and lowering the main table. So it is necessary to have an outfeed table which is also adjustable height. The Husky work tables are perfect for this reason. They also come with casters, which is another requirement for may garage woodshop.

X-TRONG Carpenter's Glue: Can it compete with Elmer's and Titebond?

Woodworking glue; is there a new player that can take the place of your Titebond or Elmer's product? Menards has been running sales on the X-TRONG Carpenter's glue, combined with the 11% rebate, for $1.29 for a 16 ounce bottle. At that price, I decided to give it a try. Now that I have used this glue on several projects I'm ready to share my thoughts with you.

Shopsmith jointer, planer, table saw, and double bar clamps used to create three barn sashes. The barn sashes will be stained, glazed and installed in an upcoming video.

These are the first windows or barn sashes I have ever built. To avoid purchasing expensive specialty router bits, I simplified the design. The construction involves simple half-lap joints, rabbets, and dowels.

Resawing 4x4 Cedar Posts on my Shopsmith bandsaw

I run the Bandsaw on the Shopsmith Power Station, use the Huskey Adjustable Height Workbench for infeed, and use the Shopsmith 510 tables as outfeed. Six, eight, and twelve foot long posts are resawn and then planed to 25mm (1 inch) thick stock.

Thanks to Scott over at My Growth Rings for suggestion the Timber Wolf blades. I bought one on his recommendation and it worked great on this project.

Woodworking jointer upgrade, feather board and guard in one unit. I install and test Shopsmith Jointer Feather Guard upgrade kit. The original spring on this 40 year old jointer no longer reliably returns the guard over the blades. In my book, that's a good excuse to make an upgrade.

Woodworking Craft on a Shopsmith. Patriotic DIY Yard Decoration.

I use two Shopsmith tools that I have never used before. I use the circle cutting attachment for the band saw to cut out the shield. And I use the biscuit joiner attachment to cut biscuit slots for the joinery.
