Legends of Shopsmith interviewed

Post by thedovetailjoint »

Chad Nevels has done an excellent job curating links to my channel in a thread titled "My Growth Rings" with Scott Markwood, but in case you missed it, I've had the pleasure of interviewing several well-known Shopsmith personalities on my channel. So you don't miss them I'm adding them here under their own heading. Scott

When Doug Reid and I met to record this past weekend's video we chatted for an hour and a half, so some fun parts of the conversation wound up on the cutting room floor. This outtake was one of my favorites, so here it is after all!

Your DAD bought HIS Shopsmith woodworking tools from Mike Young! Let's chat with Mike!

Post by thedovetailjoint »

While Mike Young's Youtube channel is new, videos of him demonstrating and using Shopsmith tools have been on Youtube since its inception! Mike has been demoing and selling for Shopsmith for over 35 years and has even contributed to the design of a short-lived but popular tool; the Crafter's Station. Join me as we reminisce about woodworking, woodworkers and learn what's next for Mike.

Scott, any plans of interviewing Jim McCann?
Or perhaps Scott Phillips?
Although Scott P. may or may not be a Shopsmith legend; he is a legendary woodworker non the less in my mind.

Chad, I know that you know that your wish was granted, but just in case someone else doesn't know, I did interview Jim McCann and have been posting that conversation in several parts. Here's part one: https://youtu.be/mXMhBdZtaQo

We wrap up our conversation with Shopsmith power tool company engineer, Jim McCann, and we start off with a comment that I heard from several people who saw the tour of Jim's shop on the Workshop Companion channel. From there we talk about tools that Jim wishes could have made it to market and a few final thoughts. Thanks for joining us in this conversation.
