Memory failing me.....

Post by reible »

I want to look up some parts but I can't recall the right name for them???

You drill a hole and this cylinder with a threaded hole goes in it. Can't recall what they are called, someone must remember???

Don't know if it has its own unique name but is it a nut for a bed bolt?

McMaster-Carr calls them "dowell nuts", where Lowes calls them "barrel nuts". McMaster-Carr shows something different for "barrel nuts". Weird.

I never noticed 'dowel nut' being used before. Searches find them under either name. They are the critical component if you want to make your own Jorgensen style handscrew wood clamps.
