The Speed Dial and the Overhaulin' Pinstripe Envy

Post by nuhobby »

I get carried away with dabblings now and then.

I had been on a kick of polishing up wristwatches on improvised chucks in the Shopsmith, a feasible thing with a 250rpm speed on the Power Pro. This led to sometimes making them "brushed" rather than "polished" for a certain effect, say, with 400 grit sandpaper. The nice concentric control of sanding marks was fun.

I saw an episode of Overhaulin' and the guys put one fantastic pinstripe on a truck wheel. Wow! Wheels started turning a few hours later for me.

I had one silver & white cheaper watch which was just too plain for my taste. I then remembered having a little bottle of red enamel from one of my headstock Speed Dial fix-ups, years ago....

Here we go!
