Shopsmith Carbide Router Bits

Post by DLB »

I recently ordered some of the Carbide and Carbide-Tipped Router Bits during the overstock sale and was mildly surprised to receive CMT brand bits. These were straight bits with 1/2" shank in several sizes from this page: https://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/cat ... erbits.htm The 1/4" version is solid carbide, the others I bought were carbide tipped with CMT's Orange Shield coating. The packaging is marked with both the SS and CMT PNs, for example SS 521869 is CMT 811.627.11. As you might guess, the bits don't look like those pictured in the SS catalog. These look like good bits, but I have no experience with the brand.

I expect you will like them and they will serve you well. Chuck them up and start them working.
