Lithium Screwdriver by WORX

Post by reible »

Model WX240L.1 in case you need to know that. I got mine at my local Menard's store and paid about $30 for it. Add tax and then adjust the tool cost by the 11% rebate for a final cost dependent on where you live.

The first screw drive I got was I think a B&D but the nicad batteries only last so long and they were not a plug and play replacement but of course that didn't stop me from doing it a couple of time but finally got tired of it and the fact that most of the time when I went to use it the unit was dead. My brother got it for me when I was still in school after the army so maybe '71 or '72.

I've had a couple other since then but the quality was poor and I didn't spend much so got what I paid for. Of course drill/drivers work for this sort of thing also and I've done that and been there for the last say 15 years. Frankly I'm much more inclined to use a hand screwdriver then go down to the shop to get a power tool. So little tasks upstairs is what this new one is for.

Shot a couple of pictures so you can see what I'm talking about:

Here is a place you can read about it:

So what do I think about it? I like it! I've gotten a lot of use out of it the since I've owned it and I have to say more then I even expected. It is nice to have a decent selection of bits right at hand. It recharges using USB, got lots of options for doing that since almost everything in electronics has gone that way. Torque has not been an issue yet, it does have three settings and so far I've not needed to change that. It has two LED lights which is also a plus for a lot of places I find a use for it, saves looking for a flashlight. It comes in a case so that is how I store it, needless to say that is nice also.

The warranty is 3 years but I have hopes it last for at least twice that long.

I haven't own it for years so how well it will hold up is in question, have to wait and see on that.

thanks for the tip . I have been a fan of worx tools for a while now, just picked up a worx tiger saw / saws all with batteries that match several other tools , its nice to have a assortment of batteries on hand and not have to have different chargers plugged in . looks like I need to go shopping for the WX240L .

I have an old Black and Decker that uses 4 double A batteries, I use it all the time too. Love it. Must be 30 years old or older. My grand daughter also got me one that uses tiny tips, perfect for small parts work. It uses a single double A and I use it mostly to get into things that have battery compartments with covers held on with tiny screws. It came with a full tip assortment.

Would be nice to know where the tiny one originated (i.e.where the granddaughter obtained it).
