When I upgraded from the 510 to the 520 I had to make an adapter for the 520 fence. Also the fence straddler doesn't fit well on the old style shelf.

Does anyone have the plan for the 520 accessory shelf?

The slots for the fence straddler are not far enough apart - other than that it should work.

Sorry for the reply to such an old post.

I just received the new Shopsmith Accessory Shelf. If you want to make one it is 1.125" thick and follow the photo.

Ignoring the cutouts, are the physical dimensions of the shelf the same as the original 510 shelf? In the pictures, it appears to be same length but wider (infeed to outfeed).

510 shelf is 4' 10" x 7-1/8" and 1-1/64" thick.

The new shelf is 4' 10-1/4" x 7-1/2" and 1-1/8" thick, it works with all mark-V's.

The new shelf looks like it may be made of Poplar, not sure about the old shelf.

Tool Shelf

I have still another version of the tool shelf.

I don't have either of the "L" shaped cutouts in mine and the routed out area for push blocks is the size of a single push block.

Mine was new in the early 90's. A few changes have occured since then.

Mine is only 7 1/2" wide and the layout is quite different.

PS: Some pictures posted earlier in this thread show the fence straddler on a new 520 tool shelf. It looks to me as though the fence straddler still doesn't fit (one leg in and one leg out).
