Woodturning workshop

Post by wa2crk »

Has anyone seen the most recent segment of the Woodturning Workshop with Tim Yoder? He covered in detail how to lay out and set up a bowl for turning.
I really did not have a clue as to how some of the more intricate bowls were layed out. (Mr Feekin please take note, instructions please)
There is a site on the web that shows how to construct a twelve sided object but I found it a bit confusing. Tim's guest showed how lay out the bowl with a semi circle and a pair of dividers. I seem to remember the method from my High School days in sheet metal drafting classes.
The second installment of this program is due to air this coming weekend so all interested bowl turning wannabees should look it up on your local PBS tv station.
The first installment was really outstanding.
