Huzzah! SS demo coming to Kansas City area!

Post by bobgroh »

Well, we folks in the mid-west are finally getting a Shopsmith demo coming to our neck of the woods! Yeah, I'm excited and luckily, being of the retired sort, I can schedule a trip. It is been a long time since the last one and I am overdue.

The demo is going to be at the Lowe's in Shawnee, Kansas from Thursday, Nov. 10th to Saturday, Nov. 12th.

It is going to be interesting - I am interested in the PowerPro head, of course. Certainly hope to upgrade someday (the slower speed would be a definite asset in my feeble attempt's at bowl turning) but now is probably not the time. Sigh.

I be curious what the 'show' discount or enticements are.

I saw the one in manassas va. Can't recall there being a huge discount but there was an incentive to buy directly from him. I have his card for the very day I do upgrade.

On the subject of discounts, etc - I was wondering also. The email from SS only mentions a free CD of plans and projects. No money enticements. I'll find out when I go in (a bit less than) 2 weeks. We can always hope!

Bought my first Mark V (model 500) at a SS demo just south of St. Joseph, Michigan (way over in the southwest corner of the state, just north of Indiana border) in 1984. I had been to several demo's over the years and had lusted for one for ever. This time, my wife nudged me in the ribs and said 'go for it'. So I did. Ah, memories.
