One thing that I did notice is that the caster wheels do not stay suppended in mid air when retracted as in the picture. It would have made sweeping a lot eaiser. Over all I am not at all disapointed in these casters. They roll great and seem to be of good quality. Heck they would probably even work properly on an bench that weighs less that a full grown Cow!

They would if you got that added ganging board out of the way!:D

Since you can raise it high enough to lower them one at a time, perhaps the ganging is no longer needed????

Regardless of the ganging issue, the wheels will flop down and rest on the floor when not engaged. My set does the same thing. its based on the design.

A simple fix would be to use a rubber band or similar setup to keep them up but allow the movement.

AH SO! The old any resemblance between the picture on the box and the actual contents is purely coincidental!:(

Notice the caster mounting plate raised with the actuator and the wheel off the floor in the 'box' pix. Also the wheel is different. Wonder what made it hug in the box pix?

I have been buying a few of these hooks along the way. They are a little expensive but work great. Today while cutting some corbels on my band saw I had to change blades so I decided to do a little improvement project for my blades and band saw fence.

Since I plan to use more of these in the future I decided to make a simple jig to locate the holes. I can use my torpedo level and a vix bit to mark where i need to drill 1/4 inch holes.

Second hole from top for the locating tab on the back?

Holes drilled shown is the one on the right.

Are the pieces on the top holes NOT shown in the first pix?

What wall anchors come with that?

Yes to question #1.

I am confused at the next to question.

Some of the hooks require 2 screws and a 3rd hole for the tab. Some require 3 screws and a 4th hole for the tab. They are designed (tabs)to be driven into drywall to hold the hooks in place while you drive the screws. I am going through the marlite board so I am pr drilling 1/4 inch holes

The top hole on the right hook is slightly mis-aligned to the right as were the holes drilled shown(pilots were in line, but the top one skewed to the right when enlarged.

Could be a little off. The marlite board has a texture that tends to lead the drill bit. Also could be exaggerated by the camera.

My biggest shop improvement of late has been upgrading my dust collection. I retrofitted as best I could my old Craftsman saw to hook up to a dust separator, which I made out of a Rubbermaid Brute tub on wheels. Other than as a barrel filled with water to winterize my outboard motor every fall, the brute has not seen much use until now. The hoses slip off and on quickly and the system really works well. It catches a lot of dust and chips before they get into my DC, which is a pain to empty and clean. The tub empties very easily and saves wear and tear on impellers when I vacuum hardware. I rigged up a small hose from an old vacuum cleaner, as well as a floor sweep. Got most of the fittings from Rockler. I do need to ground the tub.

Yes indeed some of the older equipment can be a bear to try to contain the dust. I went through that a couple of years ago with my 20+ year unisaw. I actually have it caulked to the floor now and dust collection is pretty good.

I use to have one of those style jet vacs with the bag that hangs on the inside like yours. I hated it. They solved the problem of replacing the bag after you have emptied it but try getting it out when it is full of dust off of the drum sander.
