I'm curious what everyones working on for friends and family for Christmas. Post it here and don't worry about it being "under construction" or not complete. I know I'm behind and with only 18.5 construction days until Christmas, I can't be the only one.

I am running too far behind myself.... I suspect I'll turn a few pens at best with the season going by so fast.

I also was playing with some leftover veneer lately, making a curved shape based on gluing 7 plys of veneer around a PVC-tubing "buck." It would be something along the lines of the following, aimed toward a curio or valet type of holder. Just piddling for now.

I'll try to get pictures on Christmas morning. I say try because we have a large family gathering on Christmas and it gets to be a real zoo.

Unlike previous years, we finished our Christmas construction projects in August/September. Immediately, SWMBO wrapped them all so that we did not have to worry about the tykes getting into the closet and seeing something they were not suppose to see.

I can't help it, that's the way it is. The numbers may help it to be that way but for whatever reason - it is that way and I love every one of them.

Even after we have been there all day long.

I have been having a terrible time deciding and time is almost up! I am anxious to see what everyone is doing.

I might make a wahoo board, maybe a hat rack or even a cross clock. I just can't get time to get into the shop.

Making a tug along catepillar for 16 month old grand daughter. Did some of the painting today, but will be cold and windy tomorrow, so will have to wait until about Sunday for it to get back above the 55 degree mark and hope the wind is calm. In the meantime, can cut the face of the worm and get the brass screws so it will be ready to go.

Had some pens made from scraps of a cedar tree that grew in the front yard where the wife and her sisters grew up. So, everyone gets a pen for Christmas. Making some picture frames from the same lumber and they will go to one of her sisters. If I have time, will make a bulldozer for the grandson. May not get it done in time, but he won't mind.

Didn't make anything for the wife. She has MS, so purchase a Nook for her. That'll keep her busy reading. That is one thing she can do when her eyes allow her.

Thanks for this thread. Will try to get pix of the catepillar up next week and yes, it's built with a shopsmith.
