Watching the Nick Englar videos he seems to be of the mindset of take it home and apart before you turn it on. At the price I'm getting I would still buy it if it didn't work so I think I may just do that after checking the interior to make sure the motor, sheaves, and belt are still there.

What do you guys think?

I don't think there is anything to debate. Go for it. If something doesn't work, someone here can talk you through recovery.

These machines are the epitomy of the KISS approach to engineering. You'll learn so much by going completely thru it first and will be prepared for whatever future maintenance/repairs it may need. Buy it, rebuild it, tune it up and make a LOT of sawdust!!

Welcome to the forum!! Just wondering what part of Westminster you are in. I used to live in Hanover Pa. and I worked in Westminster. Also I would like to know where the machine is located. After you close your deal of course.:D

I like Westminster a lot. Grew up here, left a couple times and now am back raising a family. I'm right in the mix- short walk from Main St.

As far as where I'm picking up the machine- it's really, really far away, you guys wouldn't be interested ;)

I cannot speak for everyone who reads posts here, but,I believe all the 'regulars' would NOT(yes I be shouting) snipe another's potential good fortune and would be interested only to possibly take a look to see if there is anything that needed to be called to your attention. At least that is the way I see it! May be old fashioned naive, but that is how it should be!:cool:
