It's about time to see things start turning around.

I don't buy any wood furniture because I love making my own, but when it comes to chairs and sofas, I buy. We just replaced our living room furniture this past month. We found new furniture we wanted, and the best part is that it was made by Simmons in Alabama.

Saw that, more of these positive stories need to hit the air rather than hearing political mud slinging. I think the solution to fix alot of our problems could be facilitated with good positive press over a period of time.
That story made me wish the employment opportunity was closer.

Great Story on Quality USA Stuff!

FYI, our house has a formal Cherry dining set Made In Indiana in recent times. There are private-label makers here as well as the well-known Amish makers.

I like making stuff, but I'll leave 8 curvy & rungless chairs to some real experts!

By the way, it's hard to fault USA-grown Hardwoods, either!

When I do woodworking, I use only North American hardwoods. I don't like the woods from other parts of the world nearly as much as the domestic woods. The US is blessed with the best hardwoods in the world.

This is not furniture making, but if you call customer support for a company and get a foreign location just ask where they are and ask for someone in the USA. I have done this several times and it works. Just thing what would happen if everyone would do this.

I'll have to get back later on a picture of the formal Cherry set. However from the same storeroom in Nashville (Brown County, IN) we had got a couple of less-formal end-tables and coffee table with Red Elm tops. Quick and fingerprinted picture from that shopping trip in 2010 is here:

Great story, even with MSN editing. We certainly need to start thinking America first. In California restarting a furnature business would probably be impossible. Air Pollution control has forced most paint and finishing plants out of the state. Dust pollution has move most woodworking operations out of state. I am truly glad this company was able to restart in the USA, but sadly they would probably not be able to start here.
