thanks to all appreciate the input this is what i came up with ---made out of Birch--finished with wipe on poly--then a coat of wax
the pins set flush and are shelf pins--for adjustment of the angle & for height of the book

That has some interesting ideas incorporated into it. Very flexible for whatever book she mounts. Nicely done.
