Post by jmchale »

Is it just me, or is the shopsmith website down right now?

I was on about 12:30 central time and all was working well. Called and ordered some parts so I know the place is open.

Mystery Solved.

It looks like my corporate network has started blocking the shopsmith website for some dumb reason.

People can still access ESPN, etc though.....

Either that, or shopsmith has started blocking connections from my corporate network for some reason.

Do you have any parental controls set? Sometimes, they get a bit screwy. :)

Corporate website??? When I was working, if I contacted a web site like Shopsmith from the computer at my desk - that would be the last time I logged onto that computer. The next thing I would do is visit the personnel office to pick up my walking papers.

There was a computer work station at work that I could use, for personal purpose, in the break area but it was almost always being used by someone who got there before my break started. Even then, that computer had no access to the corporate site.

FWIW The Shopsmith site has been inaccessible from here for short periods a couple times this past week. That could have been the site or it could have been the network (which isn't the same for all of us).

I find the site not working now and then but it is normally at odd hours and I usually just assume that they are doing maintenance.
