High end wood finish process

A while back I read something on this forum about an elaborate wood finish process that was identified by a persons name. I think that name started with "M", and the process involved 10 or 15 steps of sealing, sanding, re-sealing, wiping, coating sanding, etc. I came back to reference that info and now I can't find it. Anybody know what I am referring to?

Yes Bob, that must be it, thanks. I've got some special wood that deserves some special attention. I could just oil it up with linseed or shoot on some Deft Lacquer but it is time to dig a little deeper into other options.
