Another change to the web site

Post by JPG »

Although disconcerting at first, the accessory page no longer includes the part number search function.

It has been relocated to its own page(logically more appropriate).

It is at the bottom of the drop down menu under 'Products'.

I have long been frustrated by what needs to be done to get to some areas. For this particular one - I click on Support (in the red bar across the top), then click on Order Status and there you have the search options.

Part number search

Post by admin »

Looks like I'll have to update my descriptions to clear that one up.

Part numbers can be entered in any of the search boxes, you no longer have to use a separate part number search screen.

OK!:)

Where is said search box > http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/partscat/index.htm

I assume that a WIP will have inconsistencies.

Us old geezers are quite habit prone and do not always adapt to change as quickly or easily as we would like.

No criticism intended. Just trying to help others that may encounter differences and how I 'accommodated the changes'.

I think the search as a separate link is a logical place for it. If also in pages that is a plus.

Keep on keeping on!:)

Hmmmm! Missed that on the drop down menu:o , I'm so old, I'm still looking for the part number search up at the page top.;) Found it still there by going to "service parts" on that same drop down menu. Then - Eureka!! The "item number search" is at the top of the page - where it belongs:D ,

Part Number Search

Post by dusty »

Ooppps

You can search for an out of date part number and place it in your shopping cart. I searched for 555540 (part number for my Mark V when it was new) and it shows up as $0.00.

An invalid part number (555650) returns Item Number 555650 was not found - as you would expect.

But the search function does work on good (current) numbers.
