I'm planning to travel to this demo tomorrow from Greenville, SC...
How does the Demo work? Does it matter when I arrive? How long does each Demo last...says it is from 10am til 7pm...is it hourly, constant, or what? I don't want to get there and find out I have to wait around hours for the "next demo"...

Lowe's Demo
Bill: I attended a demo in Fayetteville, Ga. several weeks ago. When I arrived, the presentation had been underway for about 5 minutes. There were 18 men and 1 woman. The presentation lasted approximately 1/2 hr. After it was over, most of us hung around talking and the next presentation started in about a half hour. There will be plenty of time for questions, and hands on. Presentations are dependent on any available audience at the time. Hope this helps.
I'm glad you ask this question tonight because it reminds me I need to write to several members of this forum as some of them were the topic of conversation after the demo was over. I was impressed that out of the 19 people there that day, 17 were members of this forum.

Shopsmith Demo near Portland in two weeks
Even though I have a PowerPro I still plan on attending to get some accessories.

The one I went to was ten minutes from my house and not worth the time to go to it. If you are a working person and get off at 1700 hours, you are wasting your time trying to get to the demo, the guy I had was cleaning up to leave at that time when several working people came in (One was a nice gentleman who worked at Baird Bros Hardwoods in Canfield, OH). I could tell by their reactions that they were disappointed and felt they wasted their time to get there. I spent more time talking to the Baird Bros Sawmill man about his excellent company just so I did not feel my trip was in vain.
The other shopsmith owners that were there were very nice to talk with, around 3-5, and the demo man missed out on selling future updates by talking with them. He must get a bonus for the postcards, since he was VERY good at collecting them and made a point to ask for them.
If you are retired or unemployed and have nothing to do that day, I would say to be the first person through the door when Lowes opens. If you are a working person at get off at 1600-1800, don't bother to go, the SS Rep will be cleaning up to leave and have no time to talk with you.
