Suggestions on How to Fix

PO dropped the headstock on the table insert leaving a 1/8 inch depression and a slight crack on the bottom. Can this be fixed?

A crack on the bottom of what? The headstock? The table? Or the pan that holds the motor? If it is part of the casting then JB weld might work.

Be careful with the insert if that is what is damaged. They can be brittle when trying to bend.

It is the insert that is bent with a slight crack. I obviously wouldn't bend it cold but don't know if heat will help or if there is some other more refined solution.

Model 500 table inserts are available on E-Bay at reasonable cost. But you can make a replacement out of 1/4" plywood easily enough.

Perhaps you can do that easily enough. But let's assume that I know nothing (like Sgt. Schultz on Hogan's Heroes) and wouldn't have a clue as to how to do this. Can you provide a detailed drawing, photo or instructions.

My neighbor, who is a cardiologists, tells me that heart surgery is a no-brainier, so long as you do everything correctly and have the training and experience. My other neighbor, who was his patient confirms his statement.

So, how would you go about doing this?
