Table Raiser

Post by fjimp »

Okay I suspect I must be the only cripple using a Mark 5 or 7 who needs help with lifting the table while in drill press mode. Correction make that pass tense. Mine was on order for a few weeks and arrived on Thursday. Today I finally digested the instructions to a point where I felt comfortable following them and completed the install. For me the hardest part was removing the table prior to install. My shoulder has reached the useless point and it hurt like the dickens lifting that turkey off and replacing it upon completion. The good news being all went well and I love being able to lift and lower the table one handed. For the young and strong. You won't need this YET. For others with rotator cuff or aging issues it is definitely worth a look. Oh yes the instructions and templates were right on the money and easy for this ole dummy to understand. Jim

Sometimes I struggle to raise and lower the table on my 10ER that's dedicated as a drill press. The table raiser that SS made for the Mark 5/VII got me to thinking about something similar for the 10ER. But, I have a mental plan for a counter-weight with pulleys that I'm adding to my "to do" list.
