How Many Shopsmiths Do You Own??
Moderator: admin
I now have two - a '78 500 that my Dad bought new and taught me how to use as a teen and I since have inherited and am restoring, as well as a 10E/ER that I just bought on CraigsList and brought home today...still need to confirm the exact model and year for that one...I hope to make it a dedicated drill/mortising station and/or perhaps a lathe
A single model 500 and some SPTs
I have only been at this a year and have not learned to use what I have. Have not tried to turn anything, have not learned to sharpen have not applied upgrades to jointer or learned to use it. Maybe once I get a little traction on mastering some of this I will try to squeeze in some more equipment:D I don't really have any room, but I don't have any common sense either:D
, so I will probably add 'stuff' eventually.

I have two. (Shh, there is a small accumulation of parts happening that might become #3. Part of it sets on my work bench where it can be seen when entering the house through the garage door. I add to it occasionally. I have legs for it but I think this one will get mounted on a bench (10er style))
My primary machine is now a 520 having been upgraded from 510.
My second machine is now a Shorty 510 with a modified rail system and is used primarily in the drill press mode but also supports all jointer activities.
My Shorty is not as short as some. I did this so that I could still use it as a table saw and/or short lathe.

Just one (a 520) for now. But I wouldn't mind another to make a shorty or a mini.
I am kicking myself for a couple of good deals I let get away but I am fortunate to live in an area where there are always units for sale on Craigslist, so I keep waiting for another deal to come along.

My First, 1954 Greenie / bandsaw-disk sand-lathe
My Second 1988 510-520 converted / table saw-planer-jointer
My Third 1951 ER / drill press-drum sand-want to lathe here as well
Stand Mount Scroll as well
Would love to Power Sation Mount the planer, due to the weight. Also would like to have another power station for a dedicated bandsaw with a resaw blade ect.
