What is it?? I found this in the box that accompanied my used SS

Post by randyrls »

I found in a box with my SS. The question is "What is it"? It is about 4-1/4" x 1-1/4" and has a bevel on one end. There was a 1/4" carriage bolt thru the one hole as you see and that hole is square and matches the square porrtion of the carriage bolt head.

But I have no idea of what it is or where it goes.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

That looks like part of the lower saw guard: it is part of the clamp that holds the upper saw guard/riving knife in place. Parts 207 and 208 and 210 on this: http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/part ... xpview.htm

Thank you! I looked at everything I had on the SS, but didn't notice that part.
