New Mindless Show on TV
Heard (wasn’t watching as I was on this site) an ad on AMC tonight for a new show titled The Woking Dead. I assume it is one of those boring cooking shows but this one from Korea. Why would you wok anything that wasn’t dead? The only creature I know of that you cook while it is still alive is a lobster (PITA should go after them). I saw the Korean cookbook “100 Ways To Wok Your Dog” several years ago and don’t want to see a TV show with the same morbid stuff.

Yeah, you weren't watching all right. The show is titled "The Walking Dead". It's another one of those stupid "Zombie" shows.db5 wrote:Heard (wasn’t watching as I was on this site) an ad on AMC tonight for a new show titled The Woking Dead. Hee hee. I was listening without watching too, and thought it was about a father who likes to cook Asian style: The Woking Dad. But then the commercial came on again and this time I thought I heard it was about someone who had a fear of being employed: The Working Dread.db5 wrote:Heard (wasn’t watching as I was on this site) an ad on AMC tonight for a new show titled The Woking Dead. Gale's Law: The bigger the woodworking project, the less the mistakes show in any photo taken far enough away to show the entire project!
Its The Walking Dead. The show is far from stupid, it's really well done. Throw out that the zombies are highlighted and the show is really about people and how they behave in absence of laws and rules. Really a good show. It's actually based on a comic book that came out 10 years ago and is still coming out each month. Very well written. Take a peek, even if zombies aren't your thing.

The show is far from stupid and it is about Zombies. I think that is an oxymoron.

The Woking Dad... that's pretty funny!
The Walking Dead is definitely for a mature audience. As Holsgo said, it's not about the zombies, but about the survivors and how they cope with a total breakdown of society. It's about how they maintain their humanity in a completely lawless environment. The title is not a reference to the zombies, but to the "survivors."
I've been reading the comic book series since the first issue, and it is pretty intense. Much more so than the TV show. I find the TV show disappointing quite often. But if I didn't have the original source material to compare it to, I'd probably like it a lot more.
