Dubbie and the Shopsmith
I recently purchased a mitre sled called the Dubbie. I purchased it for use with my Delta tablesaw. I emailed the company and ask about using it with my Shopsmith 510 and the company said they no longer support Shopsmith and that by the way since my Delta is the smaller table 22" the system will not work with my saw either.
We are still talking and I don't want to say anything bad about the company but in an older post Bill Mayo talked about a Dubbie for Shopsmith so I thought I would see what is out there as far as use and history.
I am not sure what the problem with the sorter table is but I suspect they are afraid of someone tipping the sled at the end of the cut. If I change out the bars to Shopsmith style the sled would be locked in.
Looks like a great sled, just a shame if it doesnt' work.

It appears you might be able to simply change out the bar.
I've had a few special length bars milled locally. The cost was reasonable.
Of course, you may lose the "washer" that engages the "T" slot. IMO, that's no biggie.

I have a shop-made version of the Dubbie that I used with a Model 500. As I recall, all that was required was a runner to fit into the narrower slot on the Shopsmith table. You could always add outfeed or infeed support if the smaller table size is an issue.
In use, you might want to add a fixed piece of MDF or melamine to the right side of the Shopsmith table so that any off cuts don't get launched about the shop after completing a crosscut. This can happen if the off cuts are allowed to simply drop off the Dubbie, as they can bounce into the blade and thereby get launched.

Dubby 'no longer supported?'
Bob, I wonder to whom you are speaking.
In-line Industries say they "introduced" the Dubby in 1987 and their web site lists both single and double Dubbys for the 510 ShopSmith at $179.

I don't own one, but have in mind making a similar jig for my 520. A front extension table is needed to support it for wide boards.

I have been emailing Jerry Cole who is the owner. I purchased the system over the weekend at the KC Woodworking show. It appears to be a very nice set-up. I am not sure they always keep there information up to date. I have a 510 but other than the table size and the slides agree that it should work.
I purchased it for my Delta 64 370, I think, but it also has a 22" table and Mr. Cole indicated that it would not work.
He indicated he would call or email tonight so I will see what happens. The quality of his product is very good and the accuracy is amazing. I don't think I could duplicate at home without a lot of work.
If this doesn't work then I guess I will find out.
