Router Chuck and Shield

Post by dusty »

This I started this thread, I don't think you need a "yeah" from me but you got it anyway. I'll be looking forward to learning how to perform simple route on the Shopsmith.

Since you are going to do this in a Tip Session, it seems obvious that you are doing Router Chuck only.

Nick, I'll still be looking forward to a Sawdust Session on the Shaper.

I already can mount a router under my stand alone Over arm router. I'm more interested in a beside mount. I have planing designs for a mini SS using my old Mark V table.

With all good wishes,

Over and under OPR

Post by Greenvilleguy »

OK, I've got to ask. Nick talked about a future unit the would be the Cadiliac of router tables with the OPR on top and router underneath.

I have something that SS once sold that I believe is the Cadiliac of which he speaketh. It was orginally sold as a pin router with a wooden table. SS later offered a router table upgrade that could be mounted inplace of the wooden table for the pin router and also accommodate an underneath router.

Is this just a standalone version of the OPR with a router underneath?? What am I missing here?

Hi Nick,
Please consider this another yay! But like qtdas01, I think that to make this a Cadillac, you need to figure a way to incorporate the Joint-Matic concept.Image

If you recall the photo of my standalone, then I guess I have the RR.- I would re-post it but have now forgotten how to add photos. I am ready to sing the loud praises of the SS Bryco. To get better, it costs a couple of thousand dollars, and it is still debateable.mt
