Pneumatic sander

I need to purchase a random orbital sander, and I received an email promotion from Grizzly for this sander. I have no experience with a pneumatic sander (but I do have an air compressor). Does anyone care to share any opinions on this type of sander?

Most sanders use quite a bit of air. Make sure your compressor can handle it. Both PSI and SCFM.

Most of these sanders also require a few drops of oil to work, if that gets on your nice finish, well I'm sure you can guess how that works out.

As was mentioned above they also use a lot of air, normally higher then the average "Joe's" air compressor.

I second that, and if you're using it for extended periods of time you'll want to make sure the air compressor specs by far excede the tool's requirements. Even in five minute bursts, that will kill your reed valve on anything below 60 gal.

For $40 + whatever shipping is, you could pick up a corded DeWalt or Bosch on Craigslist with little effort. Grizzly is not a high quality brand.
