Floating table setups

Post by randythewoodchuck »

A number of years back, when Shopsmith had the academies going, I attended one that Rick Davis presented. He handed out a diagram that showed various ways to set up the floating tables for a 510 or 520 to create in feed and out feed tables, and I believe some other niceties. Does anyone know what I am recollecting, and if these diagrams are available anywhere?

Yes. Does the publication this came from offer other creative table set ups?

All I have is the single page. I tried googling Doug's Shopsmith Solutions, but no luck.

Hi,

If you have the manual look in the "C" section for "Optional Setups", in my case it is page C-42.

I don't know if that is what will be helpful or if that is what you are looking for but that is all I have.

I have three copies, from three different TA's, and they are all the same (no pages missing). These are the only setups that were depicted in Rick's handouts.

However, the reference that Ed Reible provided shows some other ways to utilize the floating tables and telescopic legs. The configurations are limited only by how many tables you have and your imagination.

That would be the Shopsmith Mark V Home Workshop System Instruction Manual. 845535 11/04 version for the Mark V with Pro Fence System.

Even if I upgraded to the pro fence, I did not get any new books.
Mine dates from the '80.

Thank you Ed.
