Ponderous question

Post by 8iowa »

In closing his latest "Sawdust Session" Nick Engler left us with an age old question. Feeling that the guys over on the Lumberjocks forum are in need of Nick's woodworking wisdom, I posted it over there.

I liked this response:
What she doesn’t know won’t hurt her, but God help you if she finds out.

What if you’re buying tools to make possible the furniture request you’ve been given?
Will you be forgiven when she looks at the new tools?
Will you still be sleeping “indoors” when she finds the bill?
Will the finished project get you out of the dog house?
You and Nick have brought to mind many questions.

Do you have any answers to those questions yet pinkie?Image

Tim, these are all questions that the future yet holds for me.
I'm afraid, very afraid. (to misquote Yoda)
If the forum doesn't hear from me after next weekend.

This seems appropriate: One of the two Greenies I now own, a 1954 model, was originally purchased as a gift from a wife to her husband! They were the parents of the man who sold it to me. I told him that his mother was the greatest wife who ever lived, and his reply was "Well, she did expect to get some furniture out of the deal".
