Like many of us,I have the bad habit of checking Craigslist for Shopsmiths. Yesterday I came across this post for a Sawsmith 2000 http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/ap ... 96211.html.
Even though I have one already, couldn't help form checking it out on my way home from work. Mine is the base model and this looked to be the upgraded or deluxe version. Worth a look.
I thought, well it cant be as bad as it looks. Wrong, its as bad as the pictures. One of those sad machines that for whatever reason was left out in the weather. It's too much of a project for me. But if I didn't have a fine example already, I would've picked it up. Thought about picking it up just for the upgraded fence and table, But I know I would end up keeping the whole saw and restoring it. Better that some one else gets a chance to own one.
I hope someone here can save this poor old saw.

I wish LA wasn't so damn far away from me (well, actually I l'm thrilled LA is far away...I just wish in this case I could get there more quickly/easily)...I'd rescue that saw...but only after haggling them down to <$50 for abusing it so hard in it's former life
