What is it?

Post by budritchie »

I recently bought a used (1981) Buffalo Multi-use Woodworking Machine. It looks like it is a Shopsmith. It says it was made in Taiwan. Does anyone know of this machine? Can I use Shopsmith parts on it?

Can't get them to upload, but if you look at a Shopsmith you see this one. They're identical.

Many clones of the shopsmith were made, some better than others.

I haven't ever heard of the Buffalo and can't find anything online.

I haven't ever heard of the Buffalo and can't find anything online. You may be able to use some parts, but I'm betting not. It all depends on how closely they cloned it.

Bud, if you email me your pictures, I will fix them and post them for you. Likely just need to be resized.

Send to pmerriamateastlink.ca ( but replace "at" with a @ ).

I'd really like to see your Buffalo!

Bud kindly forwarded two pictures, which I brightened and resized:

Looks like a typical clone with the Buffalo name label added:

Thanks, Bud
