Johnsons paste wax change.

I was wondering today WHAT change they made because I'm about out of my old can. The new can, the color of the wax is grayish, knot the golden tan color. I found this here, http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthr ... lor-change

I called SC Johnson this morning and inquired as to whether or not there had been any minor or significant changes in their formula, explaining how for forty-plus years I was used to the tan color--and now it is grayish.

The service rep could not have been possibly nicer or more helpful--she even offered to connect me with a chemical engineer if I wasn't satisfied with the answer.

The simple answer is that "no changes whatsoever have been made in over forty years to Johnson Paste Wax except the removal of the color die (tannish/brown color) approximately eighteen months ago."

Because of varying levels of sales and product movement along with distribution channels, some retail outlets--both brick and mortar as well as online--will still have a few containers of the older tan-colored wax, while others will have the gray wax.

But I was assured, and the explanation was again backed up with the offer to speak with one of their chemical engineers in that division, that the only change was in losing the color die.

This has come up before. I got paranoid and then discovered my can awaiting in the wings for my 'current' can to deplete was the 'new' stuff. I did not like the color, and I thought it was 'runny' looking.

Then along comes Ed(illinois version) stating his new stuff works just like the old stuff. So I actually used some. Ed is correct!;)

FWIW the old stuff is made in USA, the new stuff is hecho en Mexico.

OK, my father was "Hecho en Mexico," in fact, same town as Mitt Romney's dad.

That being said, I STILL prefer made in the good ol' USA!
