I got mine with a Rockler 25 % off coupon. Works great. Thanks for the tip about using the tenon master base. Now it will be even easier to keep from dropping it.

Yes I think Dusty's idea of using the Tenon master base is fantastic

I use my dial indicator base in the miter slot. By the way, on service, Barry Wixey shares the same dedication as ShopSmith. He often picks up the ringing phone himself( I did not have service issues, just called to talk ideas).mt

I find that the base for the dial indicator is too small; it allows for an instability that makes repetitive readings difficult to acquire. The dial indicator, itself, is very accurate. But the slightest movement of the base adversely effects the reading. That movement would have the same effect on the Wixey so I use the larger base.
