Power Station Question

I just came home with a SS Bandsaw that was attached to a Power Station. I appears to be in very good condition and runs well but the speed control lever on the Power Station seems to be missing something. It will not lock the speed and as the unit runs the speed lever moves around on it's own. I don't have a manual for it or a parts diagram. It would seem there is a washer or spacer missing from behind the lever. Any body have a power station they can snap a photo of or a parts diagram?

It might be more fruitful if you posted a picture of what you have.

It is a friction lock.

Looks like the shaft is much farther out, it moves in and out at least a 1/4".

In your posted image, you can see a "c" clip that prevents the shaft from going into the Power Station Casting. There should be one similar, if not identical" on the inside of the casting on that square shaft. I suspect that clip is missing. If there it would prevent the shaft from coming outward.

If it is missing, you should be able to find a replacement at Ace or any other hardware store that handles piece parts.

Didn't find a c-clip but did find allen screw and washer that was backed out almost 1/2" on the other end of the same shaft. A drop of loctite and a 5/32 allen wrench and I'm back in business. Thanks! Not too bad , a power station and a bandsaw for $100.

Not bad at all. The motor on the Power Station is worth almost that much.

BTW: that motor, unlike the Mark V motor, needs to be oiled periodically.

Is there a speed chart for the Power Station? I know it doesn't run as fast as the the MkV does but how do I know what speed for what tool? Other than the planer are there other tools that don't work well with the Power Station?
