Hey Drew, Have you been over to Jim's place yet?

I don't have anything on backorder but I'm still waiting to see how all of these BO's get resolved.

Hi johnm,
Another week has gone by. Heard anything yet?

So drewa, just exactly where does Jim (back in the belly of the SS beast) live?

I ordered 3 ea of the 24" double bar clamps, on March 30. They were on sale at the time. I am still waiting for them. It has been 1 month now. I am willing to wait, and do not have an immediate need, but I am looking forward to a project that they will help with.Image

Yee-ha! My saw guards finally shipped this Tuesday and should be here on Friday. Funny thing is, a fellow SS-er offered me his old-style 500 guards to try and they should be here at about the same time. So I get to make a comparison between the two :-)

I've got a couple of sawing projects stacked up, so I am eager to get things going and see how it works. Next thing I need are some stop collars to make it easier to align my band saw with the coupler and maybe some other odds and ends.

"This is a post regarding something Kalynzoo wrote earlier in this thread"

Hi Gary (Kalynzoo),

I didn't know that Shopsmith made the hook & loop sandpaper for the "conical sanding disk." I was told by a company rep that they don't offer it because that type of attachment system won't work on that type of sanding disk, and can be very dangerous. The paper won't stay on the velcro due to the angle of the disk and can cause some serious harm when comes flying off the disk.

Please make sure you are correct in its use. I know they make a velcro system for the regular sanding disk, but was told it wasn't stable for use on the conical sanding disk.

Ordered my saw guards in Nov 2007, finally arrived today! Do I have the right part to spin the saw blade?

I am using the SS as a turning machine, so I am almost ready to buy a large chunk of wood to start making saw dust.

Hi woodburner.
I think that Gary meant the flat disc, not the conical disc]very[/I] recent addition.

Backorders have been repeatedly discussed. Nick has on a number of occasions taken the time to explain the situation.

Some of us our very new to this site, and would not know there was an issue with backorders. Nor would we, be likely to search this site for such a topic.

For me, I ordered (4) items, all showing available. Finally, I received an email that my order had shipped ( 3 items on 4/29/08). Then another email, stating (1 item shipped on 5/05/08, then another email stating (1 item shipped 5/06/08). Gee, that is strange, I only ordered (4) items, but now (5) items are on the way to me. All the items, except the last one were to ship by USPS and the final by Fedex.

Well, today, I received all four items, by Fedex.

Hi shydragon,

That has happened to me also. Found out that the extra package contained some of the parts for the product I did order and were sent separately instead of putting them in the same box.
No wonder they charge so much for shipping, with these types of things going on.
