Fred Grover wrote:So JPG that is the adapter I would need for using the Sierra Mold VacuuMaster Vaccum Chuck Assembly then and I would be good to go?

Also if I was to get that Adapter what are the other uses for it when using the lathe or other tools? Thanks for your input as it is always appreciated.
Realize Beeg and I are commenting with only information provided in the product description etc.. We have no first hand experience with this product.

Although I have confidence and agree with what Beeg has said, we are at the mercy of the description writers.

I question your concern with a vacuum chuck if AIUI you are just beginning to turn. Most of us here have never considered them.

JPG I had just seen one of these used on a very nice Jet Lathe Setup so I was just curious if there was something similar for the Shopsmith. I have not planned on doing that as I am learning and as the old saying goes Curiosity killed the cat. That might be me as my curiosity is always there when I see something new. Thanks for the information and do not worry as a beginner I will never try anything I am not 100 percent sure of. Safety in the shop is always my first concern.

Yes I believe it is. If you overlook something and do not ask and find out first it could be the one time that something could hurt you or someone else seriously. This forum makes my curiosity better with all of you great people and the help you provide. Let it be known by me that I truly appreciate the time and hard work you all put into helping and cannot wait to learn more. I have done woodworking just not using the Shopsmith so it is a new machine for me to learn. Lot of questions, reading and watching videos for me. I do not believe in just jumping in on something without having the proper knowledge of a machine or anything else in life. Could turn out bad in the long run. I would rather ask than try to be a know it all like a few friends I have. Thanks again.

Is that why you keep saying 'my friend' so often?:D

No not at all. I consider you a friend but not a know it all. I meant my friends here in my area and some co-workers. They think they know how to do something and just do it before asking and get bad results and you cannot ever tell them anything. I hope you did not take that message the wrong way or anyone else for that matter.

Well, that's ONE MAN'S opinion! :D

Sorry, my humour tends to get juvenile at times. Besides, I just couldn't resist.:D

There is a good reason that the words "tool" and "drool" go together. :)
