another use for Wixey
I have need to cut some decidedly non-standard angles that I could not get on Richard's MiterSet. The 520 fence and the miter gauge and the Wixey was the answer.
I set the miter gauge to 0 deg, put it in the fence slot, clamped it, set the Wixey on the miter surface, loosened the miter lock, and rotated it to the desired angle, 35.3 deg.
It's one of those things where a third hand would come in handy. I think I'll work on a jig.

another angle gauge
I bought this one from Rockler last year.
I-GAGE brand. It has a nine volt battery
that has been in use since early last fall.
Still not dead like the button batteries.

I would think that if you secured a thin 1/8" steel plate to the miter gauge face, then the Wixey would have a nice surface for magnets and you would not need to hold it in place. No need to drill holes in the metal plate to secure with blots, just use double stick tape. Once the angle is set, pop off the plate until you need to change angles not plausible with the Miterset.
Just a thought.
Be well,
Ben

What if you attached a thin piece of steel plate (maybe 1/8" thick or what ever you might have laying around) to the face of the miter gauge using double sided tape. to give the Wixey magnets something to hold on to?
Just a thought.
