hello all,
I'm a shopsmith newbie who picked up a used Mark V 520. We had to disassemble the piece to get it into my truck. Looking at the manual i'm having difficulty in telling the difference between the way tubes and the bench tubes. I can tell that one pair is longer than the other. So, which pair is the longest, the way tubes or the bench tubes?
Thanks
Chris

differentiating Way tube and bench tube
The top (way) tubes are 52" long. The bottom (bench) tubes are 52 3/4" long. Be aware there are small stops for the bench tubes on one end and I bring the bench tubes even with the drop off of the housing at the other end. I use a carpenter's square at each end to insure the bench tubes are square with the ends. This helps when doing alignments later.
