dc300 leaks sawdust

Post by oldc6 »

I bought a used dc300 a while back. Put a new bag

on it about a year ago.

Today was taking the bag off to empty , and noticed
that the bolts had poked holes in the bag three places.
It looks like the bolts stick out just enough to catch the bag.
\Each time machine starts I notice that the bag moves a fair amount
when pressure builds up.
Any suggestions??? I was thinking of duct tape......

I reversed the bolts on mine.

I squirted expandable foam over the bolts. When I posted a photo of it, another guy pointed out that he reversed the bolts like SDSSmith.

Next time I need to change the collection bag I think I will do the bolt reversal trick. Better safe than sorry.

You could also change the bolt to a round head or carriage. Countersinking would make it completely flush.

The stock bolts are carriage bolts, that is why reversing them is one solution.;)
