Shopsmith's Outfeed Table Modifications

Post by dusty »

I have been studying the outfeed table drawings that were presented (as PDF files) during todays Sawdust Session.

It is proposed that the "Outfeed Table Lower Mount" be constructed using a part that is made by cutting 1" from extension tube (514439).

I would suggest that this part could be made by using a piece of 3/4" EMT for a lot less money. Drew probably got his 514439 from inventory; I would have to buy one.

However, Drew - you could send me the part of 514439 that you did not use. I think that piece would be 23" long. You could offer it free to the first twenty people who asked.

I think that Drew and Nick were trying to help us use what we already have to build this table. I think that I could cut 1" off one of my extension tubes without substantially reducing their use, especially now that I have the 5' tubes too.:)
