Someone please help me understand -
the note on the PDF drawing for building a Compound Miter Gauge Extension.
The note seems to indicate that the builder should use one Flip Stop, either #555807 or #555808 depending on whether you have a 505/510 or a 520.
I fail to understand why this makes difference.

Here what I did
Dusty,
I ordered the t-track flip stop combo from Shopsmith after seeing the Session. Unfortunately mine did not have to flip stop part all of the rest of it. I had asked Shopsmith before making the order to see it they were in stock and they said yes. I ordered it. I think the difference is in the height of the 520 fence vs. the 510 fence but I could be wrong. I also made a modification to my setup to re-use as much from the kit as I can pictures attached. The hold down is made using the sliding t-nut that is normally used to attach the t-track to the fence. I like having my new camera.
OOPS forgot to add the the flip stop piece is on backorder for now. I'm waiting on the one for the 510.

But don't you make the fence that you are going to use this flip stop on?
Is this a different fence than the one featured in the PDF drawing "Compound Miter Gauge Extension"?
What I apparently don't understand is how the 510 or 520 fence play into this.

Sorry Dusty I really mis-understood your original question and now that you mention it when building the new extention it really shouldn't matter??
Maybe Nick will chime in on this question. They may be just thinking that if you want to use the flip-stop on your SS fence when not using the miter extention you need the flip-stop specific to your model.
