Cutting board questions

Cant spot it unless it is just too big!!! Looks nice and maple/cherry is a good color combo. Nice touch with purple heart. Oh I see it now, someone was using the shroud of the SS HS for a anvil.

Seal the cherry and purple heart end grain with a few coats of poly, that is where the moisture inters, Then a light buff if needed to dull any glossiness so it matches, use satin.

You obviously have made breadboard ends. I see no pegs through the ends that will allow wood movement of the maple. Maybe the pegs are on the other side??

We can beat this to the dead horse, and beat it alive again, my jewes wife was great at that. It is a freaken bread board that fits into a sloppy slot!!!
If I was to do it over, I wood not put in the Purple Heart, nice contrast, totally different color tone.I would have gone with Brazilian Cherry or some other dark brown tone exotic. But what you have in the "scrap" pile works!! Now on to Freaken pen turners!!!!!!!!!

The co-workers wife was all excited to have her cutting board back, liked the colors, commented several times that it was pretty. I'm thinking cool, lets put it in the space its meant to go in, I say, 24x22 right? He say "Yup!" and it's exactly 1" too wide. After a few minutes of silence and everybody looking at one another, he scratches his head and says, "How the hell did I do that?"

It was classic. I'm not cutting it down, it will ruin it. This one goes to my wife now. I'll make another one for them this weekend.
