What Goes Here?

Post by dusty »

In the new forum format, most items are self explanatory but not all of them.

View Unanswered Posts: no question - however, I was really surprised at the length of this list.

View Unread Posts: this is self explanatory but how often is the list cleared?

View New Posts: this seems like it should be self explanatory but right now there are five "new posts listed on my computer. Some are with today's date and some with yesterdays and I have read them all. What constitutes a "New Post"?

View Active Posts: This seems like it should be pretty self explanatory but it is not. Example: I have one with 14638 views and 99 comments (fairly active) but at the same time I have one that was posted over a week ago with only 1 reply (not very active). What is the criteria?

These are not complaints! Just questions. I am trying to better understand the web tools that I have been provided.

I have come to really like the ProSilver format. I go back to Shopsmith1 every now and then and I see changes be made that greatly improve it but for now it is Prosilver.

Added Question: For how long, after posting, can a post be edited? The option to edit goes away after some period of time.

I don't think so. At least not for me as long as I have a choice. I just now checked out prosilver2 and have, for the moment, switched from prosilver.

Admin has been very, very busy. I like all of the changes that have been made but especially those the result in prosilver2. Some functions have been moved around and I will have to retrain but I can do that.

If the BOTs would just disappear from Who's On Line - all would be well.

Not me busy on that one. Subsilver2 is another style provided by the phpBB authors. Like prosilver, I just installed it and let it run. I can't make changes to either of those two, since they'd get lost when the next update was installed.
