That is a later Mark V 1 1/8 HP motor. The Gilmer pulley wear looks normal. It looks like there is a Gilmer clutch in this pulley that may have problems. I test for around 12 to 16 ft pds of torque on these clutches. I have parts and tools to rebuild these Gilmer clutches.

But now with motor upgrade on my SS why not just go with a poly v set up.
Early in this thread was quoted, a upgrade would run about 500, think I can get away with alot less.

Is there a check list on what parts are needed, and any machining that needs to be done on the case..?
Can always pick up another head stock around here, little worried about that
though usually have to haul off the complete unit. Wife might think I am collecting SS now like I do hand planes...

No machining required on the 'case'.

Quill, idler sheave, main bearing shaft, belt.

The idler sheave and the main bearing shaft have the gilmer pulley replaced with the poly-v pulley(the main bearing shaft is different). The quill splines are different and is a second reason for needing a different main bearing shaft.

billmayo PM about a complete set up with a double bearing quill.
Right in my ballpark for-sure. So when I am ready I am going to go with that.

Ordered a almost new Quill Feed and spring assembly from online, the spring on mine seems weak and does not operate real smooth even after cleaning the Quill

Should point out, the picture uploaded after the order was place and it will show the reason...need to clean the Quill feed...oh well.
