Bandsaw adjustment

Post by sawmill »

Is there a way to adjust the tension on the handle that locks the guard on my bandsaw blade. My guard keeps slipping down while I am cutting. Thanks for any help that I can get. Ivan

I assume you are talking about the upper blade guide that has a guard attached to it. There is a procedure in the manual that tells how to adjust the upper guide. By adjusting both adjusters the same amount you can increase or decrease the tension on the lock. First make sure that it is adjusted in-line with the back of the blade the same distance (about 1/32") for its full travel, all of the way to the top and to the bottom.
