Customer Service
What the Sam Hill, takes Shopsmith so long to ship standard operational parts to a neighboring state. Heck, I could of drove over to Dayton, OH 5 times, in these last 5 days.

Re: Customer Service
Amazon and some others with their almost overnight deliveries have spoiled us.
I can still remember ordering from a catalog and waiting way more than 5 days for delivery.
BTW, my last Shopsmith order arrived exactly 8 days from the date of my telephone order.

Re: Customer Service
Life is too short to get all worked up over a five day delay in shipping. Surely you have something else to do while waiting for whatever you ordered.

Re: Customer Service
Oh, its not that I do not have PLENTY to do, it is just the fact that, the woman in customer support told me that my order "could be" shipped sooner, because I lived in a neighboring state.

Re: Customer Service
I don't know who, in customer service, you talked to but I seriously doubt that being closer to Dayton will get your order "shipped" sooner. Now, being close by may mean that it takes less time to get to you from Dayton but then again - well, who knows.
I just hope you get what you ordered real soon.

Gee I wonder what that would have added to the shipping $$$$.ExtraMile wrote:What the Sam Hill, takes Shopsmith so long to ship standard operational parts to a neighboring state. Heck, I could of drove over to Dayton, OH 5 times, in these last 5 days.

Then there is that 'made to order' statement.
Day of week will also affect 'transit' time.
Doubt they are shipping flat rate post office.
Also you are assuming SS warehouses 'standard operational parts' in house. More likely the parts are at a vendor ('made to order').
Lean(to remain alive) does not allow parts laying around waiting for someone to order them.
Remember 'we' be a very small customer base.
Roast some marshmallows or make some smores while 'camping'.

Re: Customer Service
My last order came through the USPS. Not a flat rate box, though.
We live 21 miles south of Hobrook AZ and about 180 miles north of Phoenix. A letter/pkg sent to Holbrook from our post office here goes to Phoenix first.
My son in Tucson sent me a Priority Mail package of bicycle parts. It went to Albuquerque, then to Phoenix and finally to me. Took 26 days.
I wouldn't put all the blame for lengthy delivery times on Shopsmith.

Re: Customer Service
Has SS shipped the parts? Or you saying it took 5 days to get them? It is hardly their fault if the parts have shipped. They don't have any control of the package once it leaves their hands.ExtraMile wrote:What the Sam Hill, takes Shopsmith so long to ship standard operational parts to a neighboring state. Re: Customer Service
Standard shipping was your choice. All you had to do was call Customer Service and ask for next day or 2-day delivery. If five days makes you an "UNHAPPY CAMPER", then pay for what you want.

Re: Customer Service
I gotta go check. I didn't even know Shopsmith gave us an option. Being frugal as I am, I'll chose the "least expensive" anyway.S Brian wrote:Standard shipping was your choice.
