motor reversing switch

I'm too old and stuck in my ways to do that. Mounting my SPT any differently than I have for these many years just would not feel right.

Just kidding!!!!! It is a very clean look.

Saw one once where the owner had the label "Normal" "Not Normal" Of course he has an even more twisted sense of humor than me if that's possible!

Maybe when I fix the misspelling I'll go with the normal/not. After all I sometimes wonder about myself.

Also another benefit of reverse is to mount a SPT on either end.

Better think that one through. Ya still gotta mate up the shafts.

If you want 'FWD'(or FOR) to the 'right', and 'REV; to the 'left', just place the labels BELOW the switch.

exactly which wires are connected to the forward / reverse switch. There must be 10+ wires attached to old push switch. Thanks for the help

The lower two poles are the reversing part. The upper two poles are power on/off.

The wire colors apply to a GE motor. Let me know if yours is an A.O.Smith motor.

The 4pdt was a center off. A reversing switch(DPDT) should not be.


I am assuming your 'push button switch' is on a Mark VII. If not disregard this.
